Well, this is canny exciting! Earlier this year we were visited by an assessor from RHS – Royal Horticultural Society , Northumbria In Bloom for the ‘It’s your neighbourhood’ category, and we were awarded level 5 – Outstanding.
The project was assessed for three areas:-
- Community Participation
- Environmental responsibility
- Gardening achievement.
Overall we scored 89 points out of 100 putting us into the highest scoring category, and we are just delighted!
We always love to hear the lovely compliments that we get from customers and visitors, but somehow having an ‘official’ assessment gives us such validation.
Thank you Northumberland in Bloom and everyone who has contributed to the project to make it the little gem it is!
As a side note, we love that the president of the RHS is called Keith Weed!
